Thank you...

Hello,

I wanted to take a moment to thank anyone who has helped us get the word out about this toolbar. We want it to help as many Marines and families of Marines as possible. Please help us to continue to spread the word by referring your group of friends to our site.

Thanks for your time.

A Christmas Tip.

I wanted to mention that if you are looking for a free way to access Christmas music through the holidays, that the Toolbar's Radio player has an excellent feature. If you follow these steps, you can have all day Christmas music right on your computer within a minute:

1. Click on the drop down arrow on the radio feature

2. Select Add Stations

3. Type in Christmas Music, my favorite of the three is 'Cool Christmas'

4. Click Add

5. Go back to the drop down arrow, and select My Stations

6. Sit back, listen, and enjoy!

Deployment Sites under the USMC Life button

It was mentioned to me the other day in an email that though there is a wonderful Deployment section on the site, under the USMC Life menu button, that some people said that they missed it at first.  I wanted to draw attention to that section of the toolbar, because there are a lot of very useful links under that menu.

To access the Deployment Menu;

  1. Click on the button on the toolbar that says USMC Life
  2. Then move your pointer down to the words Deployment Sites
  3. You will see a whole new menu of things open up there that are built in and related to deployment.

There are things like clocks that you can bookmark and set a countdown clock until your marine returns, a website that will convert Iraq time to your time, links to financial aid groups for families of deployed marines, deployment calendars, and websites that will help you to stay connected with pictures, etc.

I wanted to ask the people that are reading this blog to get involved on our discussion board at http://www.toolbarformarines.com/shopping1.htm. If you are reading this post, you most certainly fall into one of the forums on our site. We have everything from Marine Corps Moms to people that Support The Troops. Thanks for getting involved!

Don’t forget to take advantage of the Coupons and Price Drops link at:

for your last minute shopping. Happy Holidays.

Link to my Dealing with Deployment Blog and Shopping Deals

As promised, here is a link to my other blog, which is my personal diary of what it is like to prepare for and go through a deployment, as well as to life after your Marine comes home.

I also wanted to point out an excellent feature that is both on this toolbar, as well as on the website. It is a shopping feature that allows you to shop two ways;

Shopping Deals: View all products available by vendor at:
http://www.toolbarformarines.com/test.htm

Coupons and Promotions: View all recent price drops and available coupons, promotions, etc. at:

Thanks to everyone who has done their holiday shopping with our toolbar so that we are able to make donations to our charities. Happy Holidays!

What a great weekend. We had a huge number of people join our community after the press release.

This weekend, after the press release, there were hundreds of new members of our community. The overwhelming response by the public to the ToolbarForMarines makes me very proud to be a part of it. I wanted to take a moment to address some concerns that were relayed to me in emails from the wonderful people who downloaded the toolbar. I figured that if two people have the same question, it is worth addressing on my blog.

Question # 1:

  1. How do I uninstall the ToolbarForMarines if I ever decide to remove it from my computer?

Answer # 1:

  1. You can find step by step instructions for uninstalling the ToolbarForMarines on the following page of our website at: http://www.toolbarformarines.com/faq.htm#18

Question # 2:

  1. How can I be sure that the toolbar does not have a virus, and/or that you are not monitoring my web activity?

Answer # 2:

  1. This is an excellent question. Well, first of all, we are extremely concerned with the safety and integrity of the toolbar, as it would be very damaging for the ToolbarForMarines if there was a virus in the download. To further address your concerns, please visit this page on our site, which gives a longer explanation:

http://officialusmc.ourtoolbar.com/Privacy/?version=4.5.167.0

I hope these questions address the concerns of some of our users.  We have received so many wonderful emails from users who are praising the toolbar for simplifying their daily routines, and connecting them to members of this community.

I wanted to also mention that there is a wonderful community tool on our website on the Discussion Board page. There are forums available for everybody, so check it out at http://www.toolbarformarines.com/shopping1.htm.

1st Post

This is the first post in my blog. I will post links and information that I feel will be helpful to anyone who has downloaded the toolbar, anyone who is preparing for, or going through the deployment process, and any great deals that I come across that will benefit this community.

I appreciate any comments or feedback that helps to make this blog an informational tool to the community of people who regularly access this blog, or my website at www.toolbarformarines.com. You can always send me an email at elle@toolbarformarines.com. I will have a more personal blog called the Deployment Blog linked to this site shortly. That blog will be about several things, namely what it is like to prepare for and deal with a deployment, and how to prepare for and adjust to life when your Marine returns. This blog will detail my personal experiences, and not the opinions of any of the merchants, community groups, or the United States Marine Corps.

Thanks for your interest. Have a safe and happy holiday season.
